Box Closing Station

I designed a custom box closing station as part of an automated box-making machine, responsible for folding and securing the final flaps of corrugated cardboard boxes before they exit the system. The station featured a combination of pneumatic actuators, precision-guided linkages, and adjustable tooling to accommodate varying box sizes. It was fully integrated with upstream and downstream sensors for synchronization with the forming and sealing stations. I developed the CAD design from the ground up, ensured manufacturability, and worked closely with controls engineers to coordinate actuation timing and safety interlocks. The final station contributed to a smooth, continuous box production line with reliable flap closure at high cycle rates.
